Buying guide
Choosing linen curtains
Why linen behaves the way it does
Linen and linen-look weaves are prized for texture: open slubs, herringbones and irregular yarns that catch the light differently through the day. They fall in relaxed, slightly softer folds than a satin or velvet, and they crease — a little irregularity is the point, and it steams out.
Linen filters light warmly and gives daytime privacy. If you need a lining — for a heavier hand, truer colour or a darker room — ask when ordering and we will quote for it, or pair the linen with a blackout curtain from the blackout range.
Sizing and fullness
Each curtain comes in two panel widths — about 130 cm and 254 cm — in standard drops from 160 cm to 274 cm, and you can enter your own width and drop on the product page for anything else. Widths are per panel and each pack is two panels, so the narrower pair covers a window up to about 130 cm wide at 2× fullness, and the 254 cm pair a window up to about 240 cm.
Headings
Every curtain is made in the heading you choose on the product page: eyelet, pinch pleat, triple pleat, reverse tab or S-fold. Eyelets suit a rod and give deep, even folds; pinch and triple pleats hang from hooks on a track or rings and read more formal; reverse (back) tab hides the rod behind the fabric; S-fold needs a wave track and gives the continuous ripple you see in hotels. Linen suits pinch pleat and reverse tab particularly well; the texture reads best in generous, unhurried folds.
How to measure
Fit the rod or track first, 10–15 cm above the frame and extending 15–25 cm past it each side, then measure from the top of the rod (or the underside of the track) to where you want the hem: sill, 1 cm above the floor, or puddled. Measure the drop at both ends and use the shorter figure. Our measuring guide walks through it with diagrams.

Questions
Frequently asked
- Are these pure linen or linen-look?
- Both are in the range and each product page states its composition. Linen-look polyester weaves give the same texture with less creasing and a lower price; pure linen has the softest hand and natural variation.
- Do linen curtains block light?
- Linen filters light softly. For more cover, ask for a lining when you order — we quote for it — or layer a blackout curtain behind it.
- Will linen curtains shrink or crease?
- Made-to-measure linen is cut with an allowance and hemmed to your drop. Creases from packing steam out once hung; follow the care note on each product page, as it differs between pure linen and linen-look weaves.
- What size do I need?
- The narrower pair covers a window up to about 130 cm wide at 2× fullness; the 254 cm pair covers up to about 240 cm. Custom widths and drops can be entered on the product page.
- How long do linen curtains take to make and deliver?
- Four to six weeks from sign-off, then tracked delivery Australia-wide — free on every Australian order.
- Can I see the fabric first?
- Yes — free samples are posted within one working day so you can check the colour and weave in your own light.
